Career Transition Coaching

For leaders deciding what comes next.

A career transition asks two questions at once: what you'll do next, and who you'll be while you work that out. Most advice answers the first. The second is where people stall, especially those who have spent years being the person others turn to.

Career transition coaching works on both. It's for the point where you know something needs to change and haven't yet decided what, and for the point after that, when the decision is made and the harder part is carrying it out.

Who This Is For

Senior leaders and executives whose role has ended, through restructuring, redundancy, or a decision of their own. If that's recent, episode 24 of the podcast is about the first weeks after. Mid-career professionals whose work no longer fits the person doing it. Leaders considering a move who want to think it through before it becomes urgent. People returning after leave, a sabbatical, or illness, who are stepping back into a role that may not be the same one they left.

Our Approach

Career transition coaching is part strategy and part identity work, and the two don't separate cleanly. We start with what you're leaving, since that shapes what you'll be able to see next. From there the work is practical: clarifying what matters now, testing options against it, and building the narrative, network, and preparation a move requires. Some sessions are reflective. Some are about a LinkedIn profile or an interview next Tuesday. The proportion follows you.

Some people arrive already certain they need to leave. If you're not there yet, Knowing When to Leave is about the distinction that tends to matter most at that stage.

What a Typical Engagement Looks Like

Most transitions take three to six months of bi-weekly, 60-minute sessions, beginning with a longer discovery session. The pace is set by the transition, not the calendar, and engagements can shorten or extend as the situation changes. Coaching packages, including options for career transitions, are on the Packages page.
